We rank contractors by the work they have done, using public records. No one pays to be listed, and no one can pay to rank higher.

Who we are

contractors.fyi was founded by former Amazon and Generac employees. We built it to show homeowners which contractors do the kind of job they need, and how often.

How we rank

Each list ranks contractors by how many jobs of that kind they have on record in the city. Where the city or state publishes a contractor license list, we rank only contractors whose license is in good standing. Each list shows the dates it covers.

More jobs means more experience with that work. It does not measure quality, price or service, so read reviews and get more than one quote.

How the site makes money

When you ask for quotes, we pass your request to up to 3 contractors who do that work near you. Contractors may pay for the requests they receive. A contractor's rank depends on its record alone.
