Cost and timing

Price

About $27,000 for a full roof their typical size (22 squares, 2,250 sq ft)

How we got it: The Remodeling 2025 Cost vs. Value Report (www.costvsvalue.com) estimates $36,417 for a standard 30-square (3,000 sq ft) asphalt shingle roof with two skylights. It is an estimate for one standard job, not a price anyone paid. We scaled it to their typical roof.

The permit form shows a lower figure: $5,600 on their typical permit ($5,600 on the typical Los Angeles roofing permit). The form records a job value for the permit fee, which is usually well below the contract price for every roofer, so it is not a price.
